Obviously these are my own thoughts and have nothing to do with the league. It's just if I have the time, I'll spend 20 minutes writing this up for you all to read!

Here goes... The top 5 results from the second weekend of the Edmonton & District Sunday Football League.

5. Bricklayers Arms 1 Attitude 5
Two years ago, Attitude were plying their trade in the fourth division of the EDSFL. 24 months and back to back promotions later and it looks like they only know one way, and that's up. Bricklayers are an established division 2 team, but it looks like it will take a helluva lot to stop Attitude once again. Will the second division play out like the third did last year and the fourth did in 05/06 where Attitude and Wizards fought for the title? Wizards are let to play, so it's hard to say, but as far as Attitude are concerned it looks good already.

4. Ben Athletic 8 Tommys Bar 1
Tommys Bar's first ever game in the EDSFL didn't end up as they'd have hoped. Awarded a game last week, this was the first chance to see what they were like and for Ben Athletic it was a step into the unknown. But Athletic came out on top, and emphatically too. It's 14 goals in 2 games for Ben Athletic and with Kingfisher [this weeks opponents] coming off a 10-1 defeat [see below] it could be a few more next week too. Tommys Bar will look to forget their first week and start again against Downhills Park in the Junior League Cup this week.

3. Village United 2 Tudor 7
Tudor were left disappointed last week with a 2-1 defeat by Rio [who just missed out on a place in this article this week with a 6-0 defeat over Emerald Rovers] but they put that behind them by putting 7 past Village United this week. It's a big battle this week coming with Tudor and Turf Moor battling it out in the James Braid Cup.

2. Skyline 10 Kingfisher 1
Two weeks into their EDSFL careers and Skyline must be thinking it's all very easy. 15 goals with 10 of them coming against Kingfisher this week. Skyline face another in form side this coming week in The Bell and it should be an interesting game. Skyline are currently top scorers in the EDSFL.

1. Elm Athletic 5 Turf Moor 1
I'm pretty sure the bookies would have had Turf Moor as clear favourites for this game. League champions facing last years division 2 champions. It's like Sunderland Vs Manchester United. In the premier league, Sunderland read the script and lost. In the EDSFL Elm Athletic may have read the script, but they didn't like it and re-wrote it and thumped the league champions 5-1. An incredible result that quite rightly comes first in the secretaries weekly circulars and first on this article. Huge congratulations to Elm Athletic who go from strength to strength in the league. The first division is often the most wide open of all the leagues and Elm Athletic probably prove why. Last week they lost 4-3 in the cup to Emerald Rovers who are currently bottom [be it only after one game] and this week they beat the champions.
